Former US President Donald Trump announced via his platform Truth Social on Monday that Ohio senator JD Vance will join forces alongside him as his chosen running mate for the next elections—much anticipated news!
The question is whether Vance is actually the right person for the job. After all, he beat out many seasoned candidates, including Ron DeSantis and Doug Burgum.
“After lengthy deliberation and thought, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that the person best suited to assume the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance of the Great State of Ohio,” Trump declared through his online posting.
“As Vice President, J.D. will continue to fight for our Constitution, stand with our Troops, and will do everything he can to help me MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” Trump shared. “Congratulations to Senator J.D. Vance, his wife, Usha, who also graduated from Yale Law School, and their three beautiful children. MAGA2024!”
When word of the historic decision emerged, fervent cries resounded across the convention hall, and the crowd chanted ‘JD!’ in unison.
Fellow Republicans swiftly rallied behind Vance upon learning of his nomination. Notably, House speaker Mike Johnson commended Vance, stating, “He possesses a profound understanding of the anxieties of working families and has both the lived experience and the policy expertise to help President Trump deliver a government worthy of the people it is supposed to serve.”
Meanwhile, eldest son Don Jr lauded Vance describing him as “I think he’s someone that’s young and can carry a lot of that sort of America First MAGA momentum into the future so we don’t just revert sort of back to a neocon RINO nonsense that we’ve been dealing with for a while.”
With praise like this, it should be a winning ticket. Time will tell as we get closer to November.
