Democratic Reps. Jamie Raskin and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are back at it again, stirring up trouble and questioning Chief Justice John Roberts over supposed ethics scandals surrounding the Supreme Court. These two think they have the right to interrogate the Chief Justice of the United States as if he’s on trial.

In a letter they shared with CNN first (of course, the liberal media), Raskin and Ocasio-Cortez demanded Roberts answer five questions about what he’s doing to tackle the so-called ethics issues involving Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito. They want him to explain his actions, or lack thereof, as chief justice and presiding officer of the Judicial Conference. They even had the nerve to ask him to clarify the standards for recusal decisions, especially since Thomas and Alito are involved in cases related to former President Donald Trump.

Let’s be clear: This is nothing more than another Democratic attempt to undermine a Supreme Court that holds a conservative 6-3 majority. For over a year, Democrats on Capitol Hill have pushed for stricter ethics rules, trying to paint the justices as ethically compromised. And now, they’re trying to drag Roberts into their web.

Raskin and Ocasio-Cortez’s letter follows Roberts’ refusal to meet with Democratic senators in May. They criticize him for not stepping up regarding Thomas’s financial disclosures, highlighting lavish trips and gifts from GOP donor Harlan Crow. They claim investigative journalists and Senate investigators—not the Judicial Conference—are the ones revealing these so-called failures. But let’s be honest: This is just political theater designed to score points against conservative justices.

Roberts declined the invitation to meet with Senate Democrats, citing concerns over the separation of powers and the need to preserve judicial independence. Yet, more is needed for Raskin and Ocasio-Cortez, who continue to push their agenda. They accuse Roberts of not taking action while emphasizing their need for a response by July 5.

Meanwhile, Alito has already made it clear he won’t recuse himself from cases involving the 2020 presidential election or the January 6 Capitol riot, despite what Raskin and Ocasio-Cortez might want. He’s standing his ground against these unfounded accusations. Thomas refuses to back down, deciding not to recuse himself from a significant case on Trump’s presidential immunity despite his wife’s controversial actions.

The Supreme Court is currently handling significant cases tied to the 2020 election and the Capitol attack, including Trump’s claim of absolute immunity from special counsel Jack Smith’s charges and a rioter’s challenge against an obstruction charge. These cases are pivotal, and it’s clear why Democrats are desperate to discredit the conservative justices involved.

It’s time for Raskin and Ocasio-Cortez to stop playing political games and respect the separation of powers. Their constant badgering of Chief Justice Roberts and conservative justices is nothing more than a partisan attack on the integrity of the Supreme Court. Enough is enough.
