House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) made a seemingly random plea recently. Pushing President Biden to immediately make all information related to the threat unclassified, he declared the emergency to the American people in a short and cryptic threat.
“Today, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence has made available to all Members of Congress information concerning a serious national security threat. I am requesting that President Biden declassify all information relating to this threat so that Congress, the Administration, and our allies can openly discuss the actions necessary to respond to this threat.”
With no supporting information coming forth, many outlets raced to launch theories on the warning. The most prominent have been about Russia with a nuclear missile or potentially an overhead EMP detonation via a new satellite they are alleged to have launched.
Coincidentally enough, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) claims that this is nothing the American people need to worry about.
Mixed messages like this tend to confuse many Americans, but they deliver a clear message to the American people – Biden’s leaders know something is going on and are doing everything they can to hide it. This tactic of suppressing the information could easily be taken as a way of getting the American people to once again support Biden laundering more money through Ukraine.
Given the level of “leaked” intel suggesting Russian and possibly even Chinese spy or nuclear technology posing threats to the mainland US, it makes sense lawmakers are concerned. This isn’t just a basic threat because if it was, the American people would be hearing reports of a threat deep in the news. Instead, this is something unique and something we obviously should know about.
That or this is just another Bugs Bunny-style distraction from something he thinks the American people shouldn’t know.
