Vance Breaks the Internet—Gets Blocked by the Left Just for Showing Up

Vice President JD Vance has only been on Bluesky for a week, but he’s already making waves—and enemies—at lightning speed. After joining the liberal-dominated platform on June 18, he wasted no time in stirring up debate. Within days, Vance had become the most blocked user on the entire app, racking up nearly 150,000 blocks, according to ClearSky data.

Bluesky, often described as a progressive refuge from Elon Musk’s X, became a go-to for left-wing users following Trump’s reelection. But now, Vance is crashing their party.

His very first post, a reference to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’s critique of transgender surgeries for minors, was classic Vance: bold, direct, and unapologetically conservative. “Many of our so-called ‘experts’ have used bad arguments and substandard science,” he wrote. That alone triggered a storm of outrage—and blocks.

But that didn’t slow him down.

When far-left NYC candidate Zohran Mamdani crushed former Governor Andrew Cuomo in the primaries, Vance couldn’t resist: “Congratulations to the new leader of the Democratic Party,” he snarked, tagging Mamdani and twisting the knife in Democrats already reeling from their shift too far left for many American voters.

Vance has continued to needle the opposition. One post read, “President Trump just said to Iran’s nuclear program: no way jose”—a jab at California Democrat Sen. Alex Padilla, whom Vance earlier referred to as “Jose Padilla.” Though the name flub drew sharp rebukes from Padilla and Gov. Gavin Newsom, Vance doubled down, mocking what he called Democratic “theater.”

This came after Padilla had staged his own protest of DHS raids in Los Angeles by attempting to disrupt a federal press event. Vance, unfazed, told reporters that Padilla “didn’t show up because there wasn’t a theater,” reinforcing his stance that Democrats are more interested in drama than solutions.

Despite only nine posts to his Bluesky account so far—most cross-posted from X—Vance’s impact has been seismic. His posts have touched on everything from transgender policy to border security, to U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, earning both praise and backlash in equal measure.

His tone hasn’t softened either. One recent post outlined what he called a new Trump-era foreign policy doctrine: clearly define American interests, negotiate aggressively, and if necessary, use overwhelming force.

Even after being briefly and mistakenly suspended by Bluesky’s automated systems—an incident the company quickly apologized for—Vance didn’t miss a beat. In fact, the app was forced to verify his account just to prevent more confusion over fakes.

While some Democrats may wish he’d go back to X, JD Vance has made it clear: he’s not leaving their playground. He’s just getting started—and with every block, his message is reaching new eyes. Whether they like it or not.
