New SBA Chief Unleashes Plan to Revive American Small Businesses

Kelly Loeffler, freshly confirmed as the Small Business Administration’s new head, has rolled out an aggressive “Day One” memo on Monday, laying out a roadmap to turn the agency into a powerhouse for President Donald Trump’s America First agenda. Confirmed by a razor-thin 52-46 Senate vote last week, Loeffler’s not wasting a second, vowing to slash the red tape and fraud that crippled small businesses under Biden’s watch. Conservatives see this as a long-overdue gut punch to years of government overreach, promising a golden era of prosperity driven by the backbone of our economy—small businesses.
Loeffler’s top priority is a full-throttle “Made in America” push to supercharge U.S. manufacturing.
“The vast majority of America’s manufacturers are small businesses, and SBA programs have powered tens of thousands of them,” her memo states. “This agency is committed to supporting the America First agenda by rebuilding American supply chains and investing in manufacturing to strengthen our economy and national security.”
She’s crystal clear: small businesses aren’t just job creators—they’re the key to bringing production back home and keeping our nation strong.
The memo doesn’t stop there. Loeffler’s teaming up with Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to root out waste, fraud, and abuse that ballooned under the last administration.
“The SBA will continue working closely with DOGE and prioritize eliminating fraud and waste within the agency, to ensure American taxpayer dollars are utilized in the most productive way possible to benefit small businesses and economic growth and resilience,” it declares.
She’s rolling out a zero-tolerance policy—launching fraud probes across all programs, appointing a “Fraud Czar” to claw back stolen funds, and ordering an agency-wide financial audit. Delinquencies and defaults spiked under Biden’s lax oversight, and Loeffler’s done playing nice.
Loeffler’s also transforming the SBA’s Office of International Trade into the “Office of Manufacturing and Trade,” a move to spark a blue-collar boom.
“The agency will transform its Office of International Trade into the ‘Office of Manufacturing and Trade’ – which will focus on promoting economic independence, job creation, and fair trade practices to power the next blue-collar boom,” the memo promises.
She’s partnering with other agencies to scale up manufacturing and tech startups, driving a “Made in America” resurgence that’s got conservatives fired up.
This isn’t just talk—Loeffler’s aligning the SBA with Trump’s executive orders, like torching DEI nonsense and unleashing energy dominance. She told Fox News Digital the stakes couldn’t be higher.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our nation, driving innovation, job creation, and prosperity – and there’s no stronger advocate for small business than President Trump or myself. But over the last four years, the SBA has burdened entrepreneurs with bureaucracy – with its programs becoming mired in fraud, waste, and abuse,” she said. “That changes today. My first priority is rebuilding the SBA into an America First engine for free enterprise – by empowering small businesses and fueling economic growth.”
Republicans know the Biden years were a disaster—small businesses drowned in regulations while taxpayer cash got funneled to crooks. Loeffler’s memo is a battle cry: cut the garbage, back our manufacturers, and let Main Street thrive. With Trump’s crew in charge, conservatives are ready to see this agency rebuilt into a lean, mean machine that delivers real wins for the American people.
