Jesse Throws Cold Watters On Harris’s Humble Origins Story

VP Kamala Harris loves to talk about growing up in Oakland, California. During her acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Harris mentioned that her mother rented an apartment in “the East Bay.”

Jesse Watters knows that Harris is lying about her alleged “poor” childhood in Oakland, California, and he brought the hard truth to viewers in a recent segment of his talk show, Jesse Watters Primetime.

Watters highlighted a New York Times article that looked into Harris’ connection to Berkeley and how she tried to downplay growing up in a town known for its rabidly liberal activism.

He also pointed out that her birth certificate shows an apartment address next to Berkeley’s campus.

In fact, the New York Times article says that Harris didn’t move to Oakley until she was in her 20s.

Harris spent her early school years in Berkeley. She didn’t even attend an “average” school in Berkeley; she was part of a busing program that sent her to a school in a wealthier part of the city.

Then, when Kamala was twelve, her mother moved the family to Montreal, where she taught at McGill University’s medical school and did research at the well-known Jewish General Hospital. Harris spent her teenage years in Montreal and graduated from a Canadian high school at 17.

After that, she moved to Washington, D.C., to study at Howard University before returning to California.

Harris didn’t move to Oakland until 1993, when she bought a one-bedroom condo while working as a prosecutor in Alameda County. At that time, she met and started dating Willie Brown, the Speaker of the California State Assembly. He gave her high-paying jobs on state government boards.

Harris moved to San Francisco when she was appointed to work for San Francisco District Attorney Terrence Hallinan.

It’s not an unusual tactic to play to the audience. Biden has mastered the game, claiming to have been raised by Jewish, Black, and Catholic communities in whatever town he claims at the time. Harris learned from the master and used the strategy to connect with lower-class, middle-class, and Black voters.

Harris’s claims to have worked at McDonald’s in college are also questionable.

Her career of flipping burgers didn’t surface until 2019 when she embraced the job as part of her 2020 ‘working roots” presidential campaign.

Harris’s job at McDonald’s, which supposedly happened at a franchise in the California Bay Area the summer after her first year of college, is a new part of her carefully crafted life story. Harris never discussed it during previous campaigns or in the two books she wrote. It’s not mentioned in a job application or résumé she submitted a year after graduating from college, and biographers didn’t write about it either. It wasn’t until Harris ran for president in 2019 and spoke at a labor rally in Las Vegas that she mentioned the job, saying, “I was a student when I was working in a McDonald’s.”

Last month, Harris’s campaign said she used her McDonald’s wages to help pay for college. Campaign spokeswoman Lauren Hitt said, “Vice President Harris is the daughter of a working mother and worked at a McDonald’s to put herself through college.” A campaign ad claims she “worked her way through school at McDonald’s.” Even former president Bill Clinton joked at the Democratic National Convention that “she’ll break my record as the president who spent the most time at McDonald’s.”

However, Harris’s team adjusted the story. According to an August 14 report in Politico, an early version of a campaign ad said she worked at McDonald’s to “pay her way” through college. Aides then said she took the summer job to earn some extra money to spend.

During Harris’s nomination speech at the Democratic National Convention earlier this month, which many news outlets called a “reintroduction,” she didn’t mention her time at McDonald’s. At a rally in Milwaukee that same week, she also left out any mention of the fast food job.

The Free Beacon got a copy of Harris’s job application from October 1987 for a law clerk position in the Alameda County district attorney’s office. On that form, then-law school student Harris listed several jobs, including a one-month clerical job at a stock brokerage, in a section that asked for every job she had in the last ten years. McDonald’s wasn’t listed, and no one has admitted to working with her at McDonald’s.

The fact that the claim is questioned at all indicates how much trust has been broken by the Biden-Harris administration. Americans no longer believe anything coming from the White House, even a seemingly innocent claim that Harris worked for the nation’s favorite heart-attack-inducing fast food restaurant.
